Vision

As a Christian Organization, we believe and practice the following mission strategy of Lord Jesus Christ, depicted in the Gospel According to St.Luke Chapter 4:18…..”To preach the Gospel to the poor: He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind. To set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord”. May these words of Jesus Christ motivate us to this mission without counting the cost. The policies and programs of the St. Thomas Mission reflect and express the Social teachings of the Indian Orthodox Church, which we are called to profess and promote wherever we are. At the same time the St. Thomas Mission will assist persons solely on the basis of need without discrimination of creed, color, religion, race, cast or sex. It believes that the development of economic, social, political, material, spiritual, and cultural conditions are necessary for all people to flourish and reach their full human potential and accepts its responsibility to promote the common good of the larger society.

Mission

The mission of the St Thomas Mission is the integral development of all persons, irrespective of race, caste or creed, so that they may individually and collectively, reach the fullness of growth, to which God has destined human persons and communities. A holistic approach to literacy, health, education and poverty alleviation are its thrust areas of action through a process of empowerment and rights based approach.
